Reviews of Acer notebooks - Acer Aspire One Netbook AOD150-1165 10-inch low-cost

Acer has recently updated its line of units of low-cost netbook range with the introduction of the new 10-inch Acer Aspire One AOD150. This review about Acer you want an overview of what you get from this new device mini-Acer.

Acer also, like most other sellers, has now targeted the 10-inch low-cost netbook market segment. Well, to be honest, I think all those sub 10-inch netbook too small for most users. At 10 or 11 inches would be great for a gadget that fill the gap between a normal-sized notebooks and smartphones.

Specifications - Nothing new

So lets get on with this post on the new Acer 10-inch netbook. First of all, how about a quick look at the specifications. Following what is under the hood of this little gem from Acer.

Intel Atom N270 (1.60GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512KB L2 cache)
1024MB DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM onlyChannel Memory
160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

VGA port control
1 headphone jack, 1 microphone jack

Kensington lock slot
Looking at the specs, this unit does not appear to be Acer differently than any other netbook around. So what's so special? Price - hard to beat.'m Too sharp at the front. The thing that makes sure that this device is the price of a best-selling Acer. Simple. Value for money. And 'more or less similar configurations and with each other 10-inch netbook.

As such, they are all not very different in terms ofPerformance. Acer is certainly very difficult to push to gain market share 10inch. This new model retails for USD349. Now is the cheapest in the range 10-inch netbook.

Battery life - watch at least two films in a single charge

The first wave came netbook with 3 cell battery for about 3 hours or less prior to take charge. Today, new models are equipped with 6-cell battery. He holds a 5-7 hours per charge today.

The Acer AOD150 comes with a 6-cell battery. Tests have confirmed that the battery with 6 cells can power the unit for about 5.5 hours or so. It was not long enough yet? Maybe you should then adjust with a 5800 mAh battery with six cells. This power is a surprisingly close to 8 hours. The device has a battery from 4400 mAh.

Mouse Pad Buttons - Located where it really should be

Do not know about you, but I am certainly not a big fan of them> Unit netbook, where the keys Mousepad page are designed to be switched on. They feel completely unnatural for high performance. I have yet to master the act of using the side buttons.

Fortunately, Acer has decided to return to the old proven design of the mouse pad button below. No more awkwardness with mouse pads.

Display - Same Old Same Old.

It is the only 1024x600 resolution video will be made available for Netbook? It is intended not think Sun HPlatest model supports a fairly fine resolution of 1366x768.

Do not get me wrong, 1024x600 fine. However, it would certainly be better if we can get a bit 'more pixels to play. Playing more screen space.

Keyboard - 89%, not bad. Could be better.

In 89% the size of a normal notebook keys, the keyboard of Acer AOD150 certainly nothing to write. Of course I would have preferred a bit 'bigger.

Amstrange that Acer does not use the additional space provided by 10-inch model. There are still plenty of room in a slightly larger keyboard.

If you do it?

As I said in the opening paragraphs, not much separates this product from others. As such, there really is no valid grounds on which you get if you are watching, in fact, for a 10-inch netbook. Retail at USD349, is certainly the best choice, if value for money is the most importantCriteria.
